Enrollment Appointment

You can register for classes within your enrollment appointment window. To find you enrollment appointment, log in to MyTCU, click on the Manage Classes tile, and scroll down to Enrollment Dates. Please note that enrollment appointments are both time and date-specific.

 

There are three ways to enroll in classes under the Manage Classes tile. You can go through My Purple Schedule Builder, Add Classes, and Shopping Cart.

Using The Purple Schedule Builder

Swap a Class

Swap classes to replace one without losing your spot or risking not being able to enroll in another. Its safer and more convenient than dropping and adding separately.

Audit a Class

Occasional visitation of classes by students is allowed with the consent of the instructor. Any extended attendance requires enrollment as an audit. Auditors are admitted to classes on a space-available basis only. An audit fee is charged. TCU Scholars are given the opportunity to audit one class (for which auditing is permitted) without fee within the enrollment semesters for the current degree. TCU Scholars are expected to follow the established regulations for auditors.

The following regulations are applicable:

  1. Certain classes—laboratory and clinical classes; ranch management day classes; laboratory sections of lecture classes; activity and performance classes, such as in studio art, music and dance—may not be audited. (Evening ranch management classes may be audited at full tuition and fees.)
  2. The only period during which students may register for an audit or change a credit class to audit is from the second day of late registration to the last day of late registration as published in the University calendar. It is recommended that prospective students consult the instructors of courses in which they are interested before they register. Students wishing to audit graduate courses must be admitted for graduate study and have written approval of either the instructor of the course for which they wish to register or the dean of the school/college in which the course is taught.
  3. Classroom recitation and participation may be restricted at the discretion of the instructor; no grade is assigned and no credit is awarded.
  4. If credit is desired, the student must register for and repeat the regular course after paying regular tuition.
  5. The students name will appear on the instructors class roll. In order for AU to appear on the transcript, however, the instructor must certify at the end of the semester that the student has attended as an auditor. Audits not approved by the instructor as a final grade will be omitted from the student record.

Waitlist

If a class is full and you place your name on the waiting list, you are placed on the list in whatever order you made the request. If someone drops the course, the computer automatically goes to the first person on the wait list and places them in the class.   
  
The request to place you in the class will fail and the computer will go to the next person on the wait list if you have one or more of the following:

  1. The class would take your over 18 hours.
  2. Enrolled in the same course at a different time.
  3. In a different class at the same time as the waitlisted class.

If you place yourself on a wait list for a class, be sure to keep checking to see if you have been placed in the class. If you decide to not take the class after all, be sure to drop yourself from the waitlist. You can be placed in the class any time before midnight on the Last Day to Add Classes. You should be notified by email at your TCU email address that you have been placed in the class and will be billed for the class if your status changes from Waitlist to Enrolled so it is very important for you to check your schedule daily.  
  
Students can waitlist up to 8 hours.   
 
It is hard to determine whether or not the classes will open. It varies by semester and class and is dependent on whether all students who have pre-registered actually return to TCU. Usually, there are some drops each semester. You can check your class schedule on MyTCU to see if your status has changed from full to enrolled.

Update a Class

In the following example, you will learn how to switch labs.

  1. Log into MyTCU.
  2. Click on the Manage Classes tile.
  3. Select Update Classes located on the left-hand side in the middle.
  4. The list of classes you are enrolled in will appear. Select the class you want to update by clicking the arrow.
  5. On Step 1 of 3—select the other lab you want to switch into. Then click Next located on the right-hand side.
  6. On Step 2 of 3—click Accept on the right-hand side.
  7. On Step 3 of 3—verify the correct labs are being switched then click Submit on the right-hand side.
  8. You will get a green checkmark if the class was updated to a new lab successfully.
  9. Double check the update under Weekly Schedule or View My Classes.

Update Credit Hours

  1. Log into MyTCU.
  2. Click on the Manage Classes tile.
  3. Click on Update Classes on the left-hand side near the middle.
  4. A list of all the courses you are enrolled in will appear. Select the course you want to update the credit hours by clicking on the arrow on the far right-hand side.
  5. On Step 1 of 2—under the Units dropdown, select the number of credit hours needed. Then click Accept on the right-hand side.
  6. On Step 2 of 2—review that the information is correct. Then click Submit to make the change.
  7. You will get a green checkmark if the class was updated successfully.
  8. Double check the update under View My Classes.
